Story Boarding

Me, Megan, Laxmi and Aaron today sat down and discussed the story board ideas for our music video. From this we created a rough sketch of the locations where we are going to shoot, the camera angles we want to use in order to portray different meanings and significance to what is happening in the shot and also what positioning the characters are going to have in these shots.

We decided to shoot our music video in black and white as it creates a serious sombre tone, however there are going to be elements within the music video where there will be some colours, but these will be a limited colour pallet of dark blues, whites and blacks.

We decided that we are going to start our music video off with a intro of the girl (ballet dancer) walking onto a theatre stage with a voice over of the commentator announcing her name and what she is going to preform to. Then the music will start and the seven second intro will start with a long shot which slowly zooms in on the ballet dancers back and then pans left in a circular rotation around her, until a close-up of her face is present. Then the scene will cut to the main artist, this shot will be an extreme  close-up of her eyes with her head titled, slowly moving her head up until her eyes open and she begins singing the first lyrics of the song.

Throughout the music video, the scenes will cut between the artist, the ballet dancer dancing and also her family background at home of her parents arguing and her unhappy childhood. Throughout the music video the story of her childhood will be revealed and within the music video there will be the equilibrium, disequilibrium and then the new equilibrium, where her father finally shows up to one of her recitals.
